Chef Cédric Vongerichten

By the age of 9, Chef Cédric Vongerichten, son of Jean-Georges Vongerichten, was playing in his father’s kitchen at the Lafayette in New York. At 17, he officially began his career as a chef at a restaurant in the Bahamas. Vongerichten continued learning about food, traveling the world and refining his techniques at London’s Berkeley Hotel, Hong Kong’s Mandarin Oriental and El Bulli in Barcelona.
A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, he rose through the ranks at several Jean-Georges Restaurants. After working as a sous chef at Jean-Georges, he was appointed executive chef at Perry St. In 2010, he was selected as one of “10 Chefs to Watch” by Restaurant Hospitality. In 2012, Vongerichten was named to Zagat’s “30 Under 30” list of the best innovative young chefs.
